  • Tuesday night, a Chattanooga fire station received its first baby safely surrendered using a Safe Haven Box that was installed last November—its sensor alerted firefighters who retrieved the healthy infant and Hamilton County EMS transported the baby for a check-up. The legal process will now begin as child protective services and a pending bill aim to secure a permanent home for the baby while Tennessee's Safe Haven laws allow a 30-day period for parental change of mind.  News Channel 9

  • Sinclair and The Salvation Army have partnered to launch Sinclair Cares: From Homeless to Hope, a nationwide effort to help Chattanooga residents avoid homelessness by providing emergency housing, financial assistance, and job training.
