- ➤ Art coordinator Dennis Wilkes works at Orange Grove Center in Ringgold where he teaches art and creative skills to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. - ➤ Chattanooga native Captain Larry Taylor is honored with a new exhibit that displays his Medal of Honor and an 1,800-pound replica of the helicopter he piloted on June 18th; the display at the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center captures his brave rescue mission — preserving detailed artifacts from that night. - ➤ Chattanooga native and Medal of Honor recipient Captain Larry Taylor was honored with a new exhibit—showing his Medal of Honor and an 1,800-pound replica of the helicopter he piloted during a rescue that saved four soldiers. - ➤ Today, Tennessee senators will vote on a bill that vape store owners say will remove many products from their shelves+ store owners worry that limiting sales to fewer flavors could force customers to seek products elsewhere. The law aims to curb youth vaping but may harm the local business community. News Channel 9
- ➤ Around 200 community members gathered Sunday at First Christian Church to oppose a bill that would let local school districts deny enrollment to unauthorized immigrant students—young readers and local activists read letters and chanted against Sen. Bo Watson and Rep. William Lamberth. The bill passed the House education committee and will next be considered by the government operations and finance committees. Chattanooga Times Free Press

- ➤ Boyd Cobb, a retired electrical equipment salesman, will turn 90 on Saturday and later try to play 90 holes in one day at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club to raise $25,000 for Young Life. He plans to use a golf cart — with support from a spotter — so he can complete his 90-hole challenge in about 13 hours as club members back his effort. Chattanooga Times Free Press
- ➤ Kimora Fields, a 6-foot junior from Bradley Central who led her team to a state title and was named Miss Basketball for 2024-25, announced her commitment to Clemson University’s women’s basketball program on Sunday via social media—she is ranked as a top prospect for the 2026 recruiting cycle.
