- ➤ On April 13, 1925, Mayor Richard Hardy gave a speech during WDOD radio’s first official broadcast from its studio on McCallie Ave.—scores of telegrams arrived as radio fans celebrated the city's new form of live entertainment. - ➤ Hamilton County Schools' proposed budget is raising concerns among staff over changes to nursing, magnet school transportation and special education services — one RTI facilitator said that cutting 23 special education assistant positions to save $1.6 million may create confusion and extra work.
