- ➤ Police and a SWAT team closed the 4700 block of Tomahawk Trail in Brainerd on Friday morning after a 911 call reported a disorder with a weapon, and neighbors reported explosions around 5 a.m.—the incident occurred near Brainerd High School, which was not in session due to Good Friday. - ➤ The Hamilton County Board of Education denied two charter school applications from Tennessee Wildflower Public Charter and Little Kings and Queens Charter Academy on Thursday because of financial concerns and doubts about their academic plans. - ➤ Chattanooga was named the first National Park City in North America after completing a rigorous application process with ten steps and twenty-three criteria. Daniel Raven-Ellison explained the title is meant to boost outdoor activities and protect nature in the city—helping guide future projects. Local 3 News
- ➤ Trail restoration work will begin Monday at Stringer's Ridge after wildfires and firefighting efforts damaged parts of four trails — Double J, Strut, Alta Vista and Cherokee.
