  • Chattanooga firefighters battled a house fire on Shepherd View Dr on Easter morning — thick smoke from the blaze was seen for miles on April 20th.  Local 3 News
  • Local crews are responding to a car fire on the I-75 North ramp connecting to Shallowford Road near Hamilton Place — they are waiting for further details from police and fire departments.  Local 3 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chattanooga’s 423 Day Festival took place Sunday, April 20 at Miller Park—local vendors served lemonade, treats and handcrafted goods while musicians played to honor the city's diversity and community spirit on Easter.  Local 3 News
  • Lauren Jones, an automotive assembly engineer at Volkswagen, is training for the Mrs. International 2025 pageant by doing housework in high heels at her Apison home. She was named Mrs. Tennessee International 2025 and will compete in the pageant (July 18-19 at Meadowview Conference Resort in Kingsport) to promote more women in STEM.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The 3.4-mile third phase of the Apison Pike project in Collegedale will be finished on June 30—while workers complete four bridge decking spans, install an 8-foot by 3-foot box culvert and finish grading and paving—and the project will improve traffic by removing a four-way stop and a railroad crossing.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
