- ➤ Chattanooga's EPB is buying a quantum computer for $22 million and partnering with IonQ—who will contribute $15 million and open an office—to support quantum computing training and sales of computer hours, with the system expected to be operational in early 2026. Chattanooga Times Free Press

- ➤ On April 25th, 26-year-old Caleb Disterdick, charged with decapitating his father in East Ridge, was arraigned in Hamilton County and pleaded not guilty—he posted a $1 million bond and his family reportedly took out a second mortgage to help pay it. News Channel 9

- ➤ Chattanooga artist Kourtney Brown, known as 2$ON the Prince, launches his art project 'Where do we go from here?' today at 2426 Glass St.—the project features pop art with political themes, including images of Martin Luther King Jr. and photos from a 1960s yearbook. The exhibition runs until May 10 and will include documentary clips from group discussions with East and South Chattanooga residents. Chattanooga Times Free Press
- ➤ Hamilton debuts in Chattanooga at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium this week and will run until May 4 — the 16-show run is expected to draw over 30,000 visitors. The Tivoli Theatre Foundation says the event will create 250 full time jobs and offers educational programs like Hamilton dance classes and stage crew shadowing. News Channel 9

- ➤ On Tuesday night, the Tennessee General Assembly adjourned after a busy session that saw bills on immigration, public safety, driver's licenses and more either approved, stalled, or sent to the governor — lawmakers passed measures to report prison deaths and protect reproductive rights while key proposals will be revisited next year. - ➤ Former Rep. Hazlewood testified on Thursday (April 24) in U.S. District Court that she would not have used Phoenix Solutions for her 2019 constituent mailers if she had known a fired House staffer was running the company. She said former Rep. Robin Smith misled her about the vendor's operators, and her remarks come as prosecutors build the corruption trial involving ex-Speaker Glen Casada and his aide. - ➤ Hamilton County Schools announced Friday that the joint meeting with the Hamilton County Commission is postponed until after the Board of Education votes on the final FY25—26 budget. The Board will host a community listening session on April 29 and a Finance Committee meeting on April 30, with the final vote scheduled for May 8. News Channel 9
