  • Scouts from the Cherokee Area Council placed over 60,000 flags in local cemeteries including Chattanooga National Cemetery on Saturday to honor fallen heroes on Memorial Day. Leaders and parents helped teach young Scouts about the holiday’s meaning—reminding everyone of the sacrifices made for our freedoms.  News Channel 9

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Guthrie's Restaurant sustained damages from a grease fire Sunday evening — the Signal Mountain Fire Department arrived just before 7:30 p.m. to contain the blaze with extinguishers and no injuries were reported.  Local 3 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Chattanooga police said there has been an increase in robberies when buyers meet sellers from social media marketplaces and are robbed at gunpoint. The department advises using the designated exchange space outside the Police Services Center at 3410 Amnicola Highway—monitored 24/7—to keep transactions safe.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
