ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Chattanooga man fell over 30 feet from a quarry at Greenway Farms Tuesday night and was rescued by emergency services—firefighters used a pulley system—to be taken to the hospital for treatment.  News Channel 9
  • The Bradley Central High School community mourns 16-year-old athlete Brodie King who died on May 24 in a car crash when his vehicle left New Murraytown Road and hit a tree—counselors are available today and tomorrow at the school library while his family will receive friends today at Companion Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Local 3 News
  • Bradley Central High School's community in Cleveland mourned beloved student and football player Brodie King—aged 16—who died Saturday after a single-vehicle car crash on New Murraytown Road as details remain limited with the investigation still underway.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
  • The Bradley Central High community mourns 16-year-old student athlete Brodie King, who died May 24 in a car accident—counselors are available on campus today and his family will receive friends at the Companion Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Local 3 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • American Airlines will start nonstop flights from Chattanooga Airport to Chicago O'Hare on October 6—providing local travelers a new way to connect to a major hub. The airline will use Embraer 175 aircraft, adding this service to its current nonstop routes.  Local 3 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Chattanooga Fire Chief Phil Hyman announced Tuesday that he will retire in July after nearly 30 years with the department. The fire department said his work as chief+ guiding new firefighters will help keep the unit strong in the future.  News Channel 9

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health departments in Hamilton, Catoosa, and Walker counties inspected local restaurants during the week ending May 27 and issued 100-point scores that do not reflect on-the-spot changes. Several establishments including Taco Chatt and Lillie Mae’s Place had issues—greywater leaks, flies, and food safety violations—during the evaluation.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
