- ➤ Signal Mountain residents have formed a Save Signal Mountain group to warn that local infrastructure and schools will not handle the expected population boost from recently approved developments near the top of Roberts Mill Road + they are urging local officials to review the plans to prevent overdevelopment. - ➤ M-PACT Chattanooga will host a community event on Saturday, June 7 at Miller Park to fight male loneliness, as Brandon Clift + Leah Bolling discussed live in studio. Organizer Neil Place said the event will build a lasting resource for men seeking support throughout the year. Local 3 News

- ➤ Chattanooga police charged 22-year-old Jakel Woods with attempted first-degree murder after he shot a man at Brainerd Road and East Brainerd Road on May 25 while searching his trunk for a Bluetooth connector—witnesses said Woods fled the scene as the victim was left paralyzed. News Channel 9

- ➤ Chattanooga’s Public Works Department has introduced new compressed natural gas trucks to lower harmful emissions and reduce fuel costs—this move improves efficiency in city services. Local 3 News
- ➤ UTC Public Safety and the Police Department hosted an active violence training course for local and state first responders from May 27 to May 29, approved by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission for credit. The exercise at the UTC Library at 600 Douglas Street included simulated active violence scenarios + officers practiced advanced tactics to handle critical incidents. Local 3 News

- ➤ Bruce Komiske wrote that the ideal site for the new Moccasin Bend Behavioral Health Institute is on the Erlanger Medical Center campus, where a proposed six‐story facility with secure entrances, a parking garage, and rooftop gardens will offer easy access to emergency services and public transportation.
