ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday afternoon, a 41-year-old woman died when her Kia Sorento crossed the centerline and collided head on with a GMC 2500HD pickup on Highway 58—Hamilton County EMS transported all occupants to a local hospital where the GMC driver suffered minor injuries and a passenger sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries—while police investigate the crash.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

CRIME NEWS

  • A Signal Mountain man, 39-year-old Stephen Elliott Rapaport, was indicted on 52 charges including aggravated child rape—alleged crimes against a child under 8 occurred from August 2023 through January 2025 after his arrest on Thursday following an earlier January arrest.  News Channel 9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • This fall, over 20 Convergint volunteers installed high-resolution security cameras inside and outside Loftis Middle School in Hamilton County to boost safety and enhance recreation for 600+ students and 50+ staff. The Step Up for Schools program covers unmonitored blind spots and strengthens incident response at the 30-year-old campus.  Local 3 News
