BUSINESS NEWS

  • Starting September 8, Delta Air Lines is expanding service from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport to New York’s LaGuardia Airport—adding a second daily flight Sunday through Friday and year-round Saturday flights that replace seasonal service.  Local 3 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Nine-month-old Tydas Allan Raper and 8-year-old Iyonna Chauncey, last seen on June 17 with 55-year-old Frankie Kay Robinson (the children were reported missing) have been found safe in Whitwell (one suspect is in custody) as police continue their investigation.  Local 3 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Interstate 24 will be closed east of Germantown Road from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for ramp construction that diverts westbound traffic onto North Terrace—officials warn drivers to consider alternate routes due to expected delays. Next weekend, if weather permits, the closure will reverse as work continues on the new ramp.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
  • The City of Soddy-Daisy apologized after parents found playground mulch with protruding nails and scrap wood at local parks. Officials inspected the mulch today and will check again tomorrow — promising to notify their vendor if the wrong load was used.  News Channel 9

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health inspectors reported that last week in the Tennessee Valley no restaurant or establishment received a failing score and nearly half earned perfect marks, with 90 businesses scoring 100. The review included local country clubs + establishments like Chattanooga Golf & Country Club, and it came after the U.S. Open Golf Championship ended last weekend.  Local 3 News
