- ➤ A 51-year-old man from Rock Spring drowned in Chickamauga Reservoir Saturday afternoon when he jumped in to retrieve a dislodged swim platform piece from a moving boat without a life jacket—state and local officials are investigating his death as the 16th fatal boating incident this year. - ➤ Students in the Chattanooga area will return to school soon amid high summer heat and improved air conditioning as Hamilton County Schools confirmed all units work and some schools will get new upgrades—district officials are scheduling outdoor activities like football practice during cooler parts of the day.
