- ➤ Downtown parking is managed by the Chattanooga Parking Authority and private companies like BrightBase; metered spots cost $1.50 an hour and are free after 6 p.m. and on Sundays, while many local businesses offer validated parking for customers. CARTA’s garages—211 Broad St. and 1362 Market St.—offer the first hour free, and the authority started a pilot program on Aug 1 and now sells a $25 weekend pass for public parking. - ➤ Tyner Middle High Academy opened a new Early Learning Center to give teachers access to on-campus child care at half market rate and to let high school students work in early childhood education for credit and pay. The program, part of the One Chattanooga Early Learning Pathway (with local partners), will launch when Hamilton County students start school on August 6. Local 3 News
- ➤ High school students from the class of 2026 can now apply for Tennessee Promise, a mentoring and last-dollar scholarship program that covers tuition and most fees at community colleges, colleges of applied technology, or other eligible schools. Applicants must complete the application by November 3, finish the FAFSA by April 1, attend a required meeting, and complete 16 hours of community service each year to be eligible. Local 3 News

- ➤ The connecting ramps between I-75 and I-24 at Chattanooga’s split will come into final alignment this weekend as contract crews move traffic to three-lane ramps, part of a $161 million project. Traffic will be reduced at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to widen the ramps while work on I-24 continues — state officials said. Chattanooga Times Free Press
- ➤ Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly is urging residents to follow proper recycling rules to boost the curbside program that serves over 35,000 households—he highlights that contamination from items like plastic bags may cause entire loads to be thrown out despite recent talks by the City Council to end the program for cost savings.
