COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Red Bank has expanded its Resident Library Card program for 2025-2026 after the city commission approved new funding, letting eligible residents sign up for free full-access library cards at any of the five Chattanooga Public Library locations. The program now offers 200 cards on a first come, first served basis, up from 175 last year+ residents must show valid ID and proof of residency to register.  Local 3 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Heavy rains caused flash flooding in Hamilton County Tuesday night. A section of Interstate 24 was completely flooded — prompting the Chattanooga Fire Department to open the Brainerd Recreation Center to help evacuate residents from impassable roads.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Chattanooga’s Tidalwave, an e-commerce fulfillment and textile printing start-up, is the fastest growing company in its sector with 7,100% revenue growth from 2021 to 2024 as listed by Inc. Magazine. The company will expand its warehouse on Enterprise Drive on Oct. 1 — it plans to grow its team from four to 50 employees as business increases.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
  • Fourteen Chattanooga companies are on Inc. Magazine's Inc. 5000 list—Tidalwave Holdings grew 6,436% and Firecrown is the fastest in its media and arts category. Most of these companies are in logistics and transportation, showing strong local business growth.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

  • Johnthony Walker—the bus driver in the 2016 Woodmore crash that killed six children and injured over 20—has registered as a sex offender with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office after his 2018 conviction for aggravated statutory rape.  Local 3 News
