ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A large tree fell on a car in East Ridge early Wednesday morning due to heavy rain and flooded ground, killing two adults and one child—Hamilton County emergency officials are now checking damage and searching for a man last seen walking in floodwaters. News Channel 9
- ➤ First responders in Chattanooga located a body on Wednesday while searching for a man swept away Tuesday during heavy floods, raising the death toll to four after two adults and a child died when a tree fell on South Moore Road shortly after midnight — the CPD homicide unit and Hamilton County medical examiner are investigating. - ➤ Chattanooga’s Mayor’s Office released data on Tuesday showing that over 100 firefighters answered more than 50 emergencies, a rescue team saved 35 people, police handled 427 calls, and public works crews worked until 1:00 a.m. to clear roads while community development and wastewater departments sheltered evacuees and kept systems running—demonstrating a strong, multi-agency flood response. - ➤ More than half of the living Medal of Honor recipients will come to Chattanooga for a celebration at the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center from Sept 30 through Oct 4.
