ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A memorial was held for Brandon Robinson Jr.—a 14-year-old high school freshman who accidentally shot himself last June—and his family urged local youth to seek help before dangerous choices become fatal.  Local 3 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Kenneth Spears pleaded guilty to 20 counts of unlawful photography at Massage Envy Hamilton Place—where a client alleges a secret recording on May 31—and is set to appear in court on October 31 as a client sues the company, its owner, and a therapist for the incident.  Local 3 News
  • Chattanooga police arrested 21-year-old Janecia McKevie and a 17-year-old for aggravated assault and child abuse after a 3-year-old drowned and a 1-year-old suffered major injuries at an apartment on Wilson Street—authorities said the 17-year-old is held in Hamilton County Juvenile Detention while McKevie remains in Hamilton County Jail.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Hamilton County School Board ended its decade-long partnership with Centerstone in a 6—5 vote, stopping in-school counseling services that helped students with their academic challenges. Parents and students expressed disappointment as Centerstone said it will provide counseling through telehealth and home visits while urging the board to reconsider.  Local 3 News

  • Final scores and photos from Chattanooga-area high school football games are available, with Thursday’s Eagleton 25—18 win over McMinn Central and Friday’s Baylor 35—34 win over Rabun Gap along with Boyd Buchanan’s 49—8 result against Chattanooga Prep among the outcomes released.  Chattanooga Times Free Press
  • On Friday, the Tyner Rams won 48-21 at Chattanooga Christian School against the Chargers by controlling the game early—senior quarterback Tyler Anderson threw two touchdown passes and ran twice for scores.
