  • Early Saturday, Hamilton County deputies tried to stop Dekendrick Trammell near the 5400 block of Highway 58 when he rammed two patrol cars while driving wrong on I-75 northbound and crashed into a median before fleeing on foot—he is now in custody under the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office facing multiple charges.  News Channel 9

  • BBB reported that many consumers have encountered TikTok investment scams since 2020 in which fraudsters ask for money through digital wallet transfers—BBB advises people to research offers carefully.   • A pedestrian was hit on Brainerd Road Friday afternoon and police said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening while THP searched for the driver who fled in a stolen black Dodge Challenger—access to Greenway View stayed closed until 7:00 p.m.  Local 3 News

  • Chattanooga-based author Valerie Burns released her new cozy mystery Icing on the Murder on July 29, following baker Maddie Montgomery as she juggles wedding plans and clues after a celebrity wedding planner is found dead at a bridal expo — the novel features a 250-pound mastiff who adds humor and heart to the case.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

  • Chattanooga launched a pilot program on Friday for curbside composting and glass recycling in the Brainerd and Belvoir neighborhoods—residents in the zones can sign up online to receive bins as NewTerra Composting handles food waste and Overlooked Materials collects glass to turn into landscaping gravel.  Chattanooga Times Free Press

  • Former local standout Rhyne Howard tied the WNBA record by making nine three pointers as the Atlanta Dream won 104 to 85 over the Los Angeles Sparks Friday night.
