- ➤ The Chattanooga Fire Department will host Read Move and Groove at the Little Gym on Monday, October 13 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am to celebrate Fire Prevention Month. Senior Fire Fighter Allen Green will read his book on fire safety—kids will explore a real fire truck and play games, and registration is required for this free event. Local 3 News
- ➤ Today, the Humane Educational Society is holding a low-cost vaccine clinic from 9:00 a.m. to noon. It will also offer free pet adoptions from October 3-5 during Mars Global Adoption Weekend — dogs, cats and small pets will be available. Local 3 News

- ➤ On Tuesday, a CSX train carried Medal of Honor recipients, their families, and officials through North Georgia as actors in old uniforms reenacted the 1862 Great Locomotive Chase — the ride kicked off the annual Medal of Honor Celebration in Chattanooga. Chattanooga Times Free Press
- ➤ Chattanooga is hosting many fun events this weekend with music concerts, art shows, comedy acts and Halloween attractions—like the free 3 Sisters Bluegrass Festival at Ross's Landing, Ketner’s Mill Arts & Crafts Fair and a high school marching band contest at Finley Stadium—giving locals many ways to enjoy the weekend. - ➤ The free, family-friendly, outdoor Fireside Concert Series returns this week to Greenway Farm in Hixson from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with live music on the historic Sniteman Log Cabin porch from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The series features Bella Lam on October 2, Ashly Dilbeck on October 8, Tyler Andrew Lackey on October 16, Owen Saunders on October 23, and Sam Dean on October 30 — people are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and picnic suppers. - ➤ The Chattanooga Division of Transportation installed a new three-way stop at the intersection of E 31st Street and Clio Avenue after receiving constituent feedback—stop bars and signs were added following a thorough review by traffic engineers, and drivers are urged to be cautious near Rossville Blvd. Local 3 News
