- ➤ A Chattanooga non-profit SEED held its soft launch at the Jessie Igou Center on Saturday to teach residents about food deserts and healthy eating by cleaning up a community garden with sage, watermelon, and peppers—aiming to boost local access to fresh produce. - ➤ Chattanooga tourism leaders said Hamilton County welcomed 11 million visitors and generated $1.8 billion in spending last year, saving households $1,200 in taxes. CEO Barry White said the tourism board will launch fresh campaigns to attract 1,800 extra visitors each day and support 1,200 new hotel rooms over the next 18 months—boosting the local economy. - ➤ Experts say that removing the built on a permanent chassis rule from federal law will lower manufactured home costs by $5,000 — $10,000 and help ease the housing shortage. - ➤ Former U.S. Defense Secretary Robert M. - ➤ Hamilton County will change its flash flood response plan by ending the tiered system and fully activating emergency responders at the first sign of flooding.
