- ➤ Business owners Alan and Michele Brown have created Dead End on Ghost View Drive—a Halloween drive-through event at 8397 Gulf View Drive in the Soddy-Daisy Industrial Park featuring life-size animatronic characters with synchronized lights and music from 7 to 10 nightly through Nov. 2—with donations of canned goods supporting a local food pantry. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Seven residents were displaced from Mary Walker Towers on Market Street early Saturday morning — firefighters put the fire out quickly and no injuries were reported. Apartment management is providing temporary housing as investigators look into the cause. Local 3 News

- ➤ Seven major private developments valued at $100 million or more have not started construction in the South Broad district (near Lookouts ballpark), and developers say the mixed-use projects will be built soon. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Caleb Bell caught a seven-pound, three-ounce invasive Alabama bass in the Ocoee River and broke the local record while wildlife officials said the fish were illegally introduced and may harm native bass populations. - ➤ Today, National Fire Prevention Week kicks off in Chattanooga as Kelly Ransdell of the NFPA advises residents to unplug fully charged lithium-ion devices and charge them only on hard surfaces to prevent overheating—an important step to reduce fire risks at home. He also advises that used batteries be taken to designated recycling centers instead of being placed in regular trash bins. News Channel 9
- ➤ Two Minnesota men—John Lennox, who started The Recovery Road, and former NFL player Everson Griffen—are walking through Appalachian states to raise funds for mental health and addiction programs and will stop in Chattanooga today after noon to honor 307,000 lives lost to drugs, alcohol and suicide.
